Metrovets Facilities
Metrovets is a converted doctors surgery, refitted to a high standard with safety flooring throughout, a light and spacious waiting area with Hill's food stand and merchandising stands, a large main consulting room with lab equipment, a second consulting room, separate kenneling areas for cats and dogs, an operating theatre and dental room, a dedicated x-ray room and an xray developing room.

- Our in - house lab has up to date equipment allowing us to blood samples for biochemistry, haematology and hormones there and then, giving quick results and avoiding the delay of sending samples to a laboratory.
Electrocardiograph ( ECG ) for monitoring the electrical activity of the heart.
Urine testing, facilities for skin plucks and scrapes, swab examination and fungal culture.
The operating theatre has a hydraulic tilting operating table, an autoclave for sterilisation of instruments for surgical procedures, a multi-parameter patient monitor system and oesophageal stethoscope for anaesthetic monitoring, a sensor-operated scrub sink and an oxygen-generating anaesthetic unit and vapouriser which is used to supply oxygen and anaesthetic to animals undergoing surgery.
A high-spec dental machine which allows us to ultrasonically scale teeth and then polish them afterwards, as well as a high speed drill to remove decayed teeth and roots. These procedures can be followed up in our surgery to ensure ongoing dental hygiene.
We have an x-ray machine, x-ray table and automatic processor which allow us to xray every part of your pet in fine detail whether large or small. We get the x-rays within minutes of taking them, allowing us to give you the results the same day.
We also have an ultrasound machine which allows us a further way of making diagnoses of internal medical problems and also of diagnosing pregnancy.
We have a comfortable kenneling area for your pets should they need to stay with us for the day or need to be hospitalised for a number of days. The cats and dogs are kept in separate rooms to minimise their stess during their stay. The dogs also have access to our enclosed yard area.
We have an IT system which allows us to store all your pets medical notes as well as giving us the ability of ordering medicines for next day delivery to us.
Installation of a new Digital Radiography machine in 2017 which gives pictures in 5 seconds.
Practice veterinary ambulance available for reasonably priced home visits by prior appointment.
