A warm welcome from all of the staff at Metrovets, here is a little about us.

Neil Murdoch

Neil qualified as a Veterinary Surgeon from Glasgow University in 1995, he worked in Durham in mixed practice for 3 years, then in Gosforth in mixed practice for 5 years, then he worked in Heaton in a small animal practice for 4 years before making the decision to start up his own independent veterinary practice of Metrovets in July 2008. Neil has an 11 year old rescue Greyhound cross dog called Jasper.

Trish McDade

Trish had worked as a veterinary nurse for 13 years before coming to work for Metrovets in 2008 when the practice first opened. She has a male Staffordshire Bull Terrier called Daisy and a cat called Pye. Trish has a special interest in dental work as well as advising on preventative dental care. Trish also is an integral part of the surgical theatre team. She loves all animals and can often be found in the waiting room dishing out treats to our patients.

Michelle Harrison

Michelle qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2010 from Edinburgh Napier Univeristy. She has a 17 year old crossbreed dog called Toby and three Cats Protection rescue cats called Molly, Basil and Migo. Michelle has a special interest in hospitalised in-patient care and surgical theatre nursing as well as nurse consultations. Michelle is currently working towards an extra qualification in Emergency & Critical Care which she hopes to complete in 2015.

Leigh Graham

Leigh had worked as a veterinary receptionist for 12 years before coming to work for Metrovets in 2008. She has a West Highland White Terrier called Max, two Cats Protection rescue cats called Sinatra and Mr Mojo and a Cockatiel called Minnie. Leigh has a special interest in pet insurance and often completes claim forms to send to the insurance companies. Leigh also enjoys assisting in a nursing capacity if required.

Katy Saunder

Katy joined Metrovets in September 2014 as an animal care assistant. She has a degree in Zoology and enjoys all aspects of working with animals but has a special interest in lab work and diagnostics. She is also currently training to be an insurance advisor. Katy has two Cats Protection rescue cats called Luna and Tai, as well as a guinea pig called Jacob, a crested gecko called Ember and an aquarium.

Geraldine Sanderson

Geraldine (Gel ) joined Metrovets in 2012 as a veterinary receptionist. She three dogs called Hugo, Riley and Flynn, a Cats Protection rescue cat called Fred, four rabbits and an aquarium. Geraldine assists with completing insurance claims and enjoys all aspects of working with animals, as well as assisting in a nursing capacity if required.
